Debra St Claire, M. D.

Dr. Debra St Claire, Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Stanford University Medical Center, is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician based in Portola Valley.

She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and earned her medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine. Dr. St Claire completed her postgraduate residency training in Internal Medicine at both Stanford and UCSF.

Her career began in outpatient primary care, urgent care, and hospital medicine, where she played a key role in co-founding the hospitalist program at Sequoia Hospital. She was later recruited into the burgeoning field of executive and corporate health, spending nearly a decade at Google, followed by five years at Facebook/Meta. In her role at these technology firms, she provided concierge level primary care, managing chronic conditions while emphasizing proactive and preventive medicine. Her approach integrated holistic health promotion, focusing on sleep hygiene, mindfulness, and ergonomics, along with a strong emphasis on mental health and wellness. She worked closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, psychiatrists, nutritionists, fitness coaches, and physical therapists. Dr. St Claire now applies her exceptional training and diverse experience to her private medical practice, delivering personalized, high-quality care to patients throughout the Bay Area.
